BMX Freestyle rider Chelsea Wolfe qualified as an alternate for the US team at this year’s Olympic games in Tokyo. Recently uncovered Facebook posts from the transgender athlete show they want to burn an American flag on the podium if they win.
On March 25th, 2020 Chelsea Wolfe said the following in a now-deleted Facebook post. “My goal is to win the Olympics so I can burn a US flag on the podium. This is what they focus on during a pandemic. Hurting trans children.”
Ian Miles Cheong (of The Post Millennial and other sites) highlighted the find back on Friday. He explained that the 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympics would be allowing transgender athletes in the BMX Freestyle event. Wolfe expressed gratitude at the chance of getting to be a part of the experience.
Fox News reached out to Chelsea Wolfe and they confirmed it was real. They defend their statement by saying they care about America despite their remarks:
"One of the reasons why I work so hard to represent the United States in international competition is to show the world that this country has morals and values, that it's not all of the bad things that we're known for. I take a stand against fascism because I care about this country and I'm not going to let it fall into the hands of fascists after so many people have fought and sacrificed to prevent fascism from taking hold abroad. As a citizen who wants to be proud of my home country, I'm sure as hell not going to let it take hold here."
In the replies of the post, Wolfe had commented “I would never say that someone should explode the head of the president. That would be illegal.” In a follow-up they add the phrase “with dynamite” and point out that “with dynamite” is a sentence fragment that can’t be insinuated as a desire to attack former President Trump.
In other transgender Olympic athletes news, New Zealand announced the inclusion of Laurel Hubbard, who identifies as a transwoman, as an addition to their weightlifting team.
