"The UN is supposed to stop invasions, not create them, and not finance them."
"The United Nations is funding an assault on Western countries and their borders. In 2024 the UN budgeted $372 million in cash assistance to support an estimated 624,000 migrants journey into the United States. Think of that. The UN is supporting people that are illegally coming into the United States, and they will have to get them out. ... The UN also provided food, shelter, transportation and debit cards to illegal aliens," Trump said.
"The UN is supposed to stop invasions, not create them, and not finance them," he added.
He later commented, "Nations must be allowed to protect their communities and prevent their societies from being overwhelmed by people they have never seen before, with different customs, religions, with different everything, where migrants have violated laws, large false asylum claims and claimed refugee status for illegitimate reasons they should, in many cases, be immediately sent home."
The president addressed how the US has been able to crack down on illegal immigration but laid into European nations for allowing mass migration to take place. "Europe is in serious trouble. They've been invaded by a force of illegal aliens like nobody's ever seen before. Illegal aliens are pouring into Europe."
Trump also talked about the policies from the Biden administration, which allowed for illegal immigrant children to be brought into the US and then given to "sponsors" who did not go through a proper vetting process, leading to the previous administration losing track of thousands of children in the US. The Trump administration has found many of these children, with some being found dead and others being subject to sex slavery.
