"Individuals within the DOJ are reviewing ways to ensure that mentally ill individuals suffering from gender dysphoria are unable to obtain firearms while they are unstable and unwell," an official with the DOJ told the Daily Wire's Mary Margaret Olohan, who was first to report the story.
The DOJ has been mulling over the policy with discussions centering that trans-identified people are diagnosed with gender dysphoria, which is classified as a mental disorder, the outlet reported. A DOJ spokesman told the outlet, "Under Attorney General Bondi’s leadership this Department of Justice is actively considering a range of options to prevent mentally unstable individuals from committing acts of violence, especially at schools."
The discussions come after trans-identified shooter Robin "Robert" Westman carried out a mass shooting at Annunciation Catholic Church in Minneapolis, where two children were killed and 18 others were injured. The shooting comes just a couple years after trans shooter Audrey "Aiden" Hale, who killed three students and three staff members at the Covenant School in Nashville, Tennessee.
In 2022, five people were killed when Anderson Lee Aldrich opened fire at a nightclub in Colorado Springs. 40 others were injured at the time. Aldrich identifies as nonbinary and used they/them pronouns.
As the shooting and other violent incidents have occurred in connection with those who identify as transgender, some have argued that it is part of a wider trend that needs to be addressed.

Trannies are considered suffering mental sickness, sexual dysphoria. So, they are lying when they fill out the FFL form when purchasing a firearm. They should be going to prison where they can live out their alternate sexual lives.
