After Israel urged the United States to join with Israel in its conflict with Iran, the Trump White House is reportedly not considering the move.

According to Axios, over the past 48 hours, Israel has asked for the US to get directly involved in the conflict between Israel and Iran; however, the president is reportedly not considering direct involvement, as the US has supported Israel indirectly.

An Israeli official earlier told the outlet that the president suggested he would do so if necessary when speaking to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, however, that was disputed by a White House official who said that the administration is not currently considering joining in directly.

One White House official told the outlet, "Whatever happens today cannot be prevented," in reference to Israel's attacks on Iran. "But we have the ability to negotiate a successful peaceful resolution to this conflict if Iran is willing. The fastest way for Iran to accomplish peace is to give up its nuclear weapons program."

After Israel's attack on Iran early Friday morning local time, Trump posted to Truth Social, warning that more attacks from Israel may be coming if the country does not make a deal over their nuclear program, "Two months ago I gave Iran a 60 day ultimatum to 'make a deal.' They should have done it! Today is day 61. I told them what to do, but they just couldn’t get there. Now they have, perhaps, a second chance!"

Iran launched retaliatory attacks on Friday evening after Israel's strikes in the country. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has warned that the initial strikes from Israel are "nothing compared" to what will come next.
