During a meeting on Capitol Hill on Thursday morning, the former president told congressional Republicans that he will be doing 100 tele town halls with congressional GOP candidates leading up to the 2024 election.

According to a report from the Daily Caller, the comments from Trump came as he was meeting with House Republicans on Thursday morning on Capitol Hill. During his remarks, Trump said he plans on doing 100 virtual town halls and that they will be a "secret weapon" of his leading up to November.

As the meeting began, the House Republican members sang him Happy Birthday ahead of his birthday on June 14 and then gifted him the victory ball in Wednesday’s Congressional Baseball Game right before he addressed them. He mentioned that the Washington Post's readership has fallen by 50 percent, according to sources who spoke to the outlet. The Republican delegation cheered in response to the news.

Trump also took a jab at those Republicans who voted to impeach him during his presidential tenure. He said that going into the election, that tariffs would be a top priority. Trump also addressed the changes that have been made at the Republican National Committee (RNC) and added that Michael Whatley and Lara Trump have shaken things up. He also noted that Whatley received the position as a result of his performance as the North Carolina GOP Chair.

Trump took questions from the lawmakers, and many thanked him for what he has done. The 45th president will also meet with the Republican Senatorial Committee later.
