"The DOJ and Congress are looking at 'Congresswoman' Ilhan Omar, who left Somalia with NOTHING, and is now reportedly worth more than 44 Million Dollars."

President Donald Trump has announced that the Department of Justice is investigating Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MI). This comes as there have been questions surrounding Omar's recent exponential growth in wealth over the last few years.

Trump, on Truth Social, wrote, "I am sending Tom Homan to Minnesota tonight. He has not been involved in that area, but knows and likes many of the people there. Tom is tough but fair and will report directly to me. Separately, a major investigation is going on with respect to the massive 20 Billion Dollar, Plus, Welfare Fraud that has taken place in Minnesota, and is at least partially responsible for the violent organized protests going on in the streets."

"Additionally, the DOJ and Congress are looking at 'Congresswoman' Ilhan Omar, who left Somalia with NOTHING, and is now reportedly worth more than 44 Million Dollars. Time will tell all. Thank you for your attention to this matter! President DJT," he added.

Omar responded on X, "Sorry, Trump, your support is collapsing and you’re panicking. Right on cue, you’re deflecting from your failures with lies and conspiracy theories about me. Years of 'investigations' have found nothing. Get your goons out of Minnesota."

The investigation into Omar was opened up under the Biden administration in 2024 in scrutiny of Omar's campaign finances, interactions with foreign nationals, as well as others. However, the inquiry that was launched under Biden but has lost steam, according to the New York Times.

An investigation into Omar has been given new light, with Trump highlighting it publicly on Monday. It was not clear if the investigation is the same one that was started under the Biden administration.

This comes as there have been questions related to alleged widespread fraud taking place in Minnesota, with much of it being linked to the Somali community.
