President Donald Trump is set to sign an executive order on Wednesday aiming to ban biological males from women’s sports, an action that Trump frequently promised to take on the campaign trail.

According to the Daily Wire, Trump will sign the executive action at 3 pm on Wednesday and will be joined by advocates who have fought to preserve women’s spaces. It is unclear what level of sports the order would be focused on.

This comes after Trump signed an executive order on day one stating that "it is the policy of the United States to recognize two sexes, male and female. These sexes are not changeable and are grounded in fundamental and incontrovertible reality."

Trump has repeatedly backed women who fought against the inclusion of biological males in women’s sports, including the Roanoke College women’s swim team who joined him on stage in the days before the election. "The brave members of the swim team stood up to the transgender fanatics," Trump said of the team. Keeping "men out of women’s sports" was among the list of priorities on the Republican National Committee’s 2024 platform.

In his address to the World Economic Forum just days after being sworn in, Trump said, "And I’ve made it official — an official policy of the United States that there are only two genders, male and female, and we will have no men participating in women’s sports, and transgender operations, which became the rage, will occur very rarely."

At a women’s town hall in October, Trump was asked how he planned on addressing biological males in women’s sports, to which he replied, "It’s such an easy question…we’re not going to let it happen." He was pressed for specifics on how this would get done, to which he said, "You just ban it."
