Trump walks out of NBC interview after Kristen Welker denies election fraud in California and 2020 elections: 'You're either crooked or you’re stupid’

“Let’s call it quits because I’ve had enough. Thank you, darling. Have a good time."

“Let’s call it quits because I’ve had enough. Thank you, darling. Have a good time."

President Donald Trump abruptly ended an interview with NBC News’ “Meet the Press” after a heated exchange over his claims that the 2020 presidential election was rigged.

During an interview with moderator Kristen Welker, Trump grew frustrated after Welker said he had failed to provide evidence that the 2020 election had been “stolen” from him. The president responded by accusing NBC of being a “one-sided crooked network.”

“Let’s call it quits because I’ve had enough. Thank you, darling. Have a good time,” Trump said in the interview, which aired on Sunday.

As Welker attempted to continue the conversation, noting that she had traveled to Wisconsin for the interview, Trump said he was finished.

“I sat in the rain with you for an hour,” he said. “On and off in the rain, and I’ve given you enough time. You ought to straighten out your press.”

“A country can never be great with a dishonest press,” he added.

Welker later revealed that she had spoken with Trump after the interview and agreed to have a follow-up interview.

Prior to it ending, the exchange intensified when Welker noted that “Republicans are doing well in California," to which Trump said, "They're dropping fast because it's a rigged election.” California has faced scrutiny over its lengthy vote-counting process, which can take weeks to complete and has resulted in Republican candidates losing their early advantage as counting continues

When Welker defended the process by saying, "That's how they count the votes in California,” Trump alleged fraud, replying, "Do you know why they're doing that? Because they're cheating on the election."

When asked if he had evidence of fraud, Trump replied, “All I have to do is look," and "I listen to people."
