Trump's super PAC drops $10 MILLION to boost Paxton in Texas Senate race

MAGA Inc., the pro-Trump super PAC, has committed $10 million to TV and digital ads backing Republican Ken Paxton in his tightly contested Texas Senate race against Democrat James Talarico, per an FEC filing submitted Saturday.

The amount represents the group's first significant move in a contested 2026 general election.

Paxton, who is currently serving as Texas attorney general, secured the GOP nomination and now faces Talarico for the seat being vacated by retiring Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX). Trump endorsed Paxton against Cornyn earlier in the primary election cycle after the candidate said he would drop out of the race if Cornyn and the GOP in the Senate could pass the SAVE America Act.

Reports at the time indicated that Trump would endorse Cornyn, but Paxton's move appeared to upend those plans. Trump later endorsed Paxton and Cornyn lost in the primary.

"MAGA Inc. is going to ensure Texas knows about Talarico's radical policies and elects Ken Paxton to the U.S. Senate," said MAGA Inc. spokesman Alex Pfeiffer, per the Washington Examiner.

Talarico has considerably outpaced Paxton in ad spending over recent months with fundraising totals showing Talarico's campaign has brought in $72.0 million overall, versus Paxton's $16.8 million.

The new $10 million commitment follows Trump's statement a day earlier that he intends to spend up to $500 million in midterm races. "I'm going to spend whatever amount of money necessary to try and help us," Trump said in the Oval Office.

GOP figures had been urging Trump-affiliated organizations to intervene in Texas as Talarico's ad spending advantage grew. Paxton himself pushed for more outside support, noting in August that his campaign required assistance to match Talarico's television presence.

Party leadership has also brought up concerns over insufficient outside investment in the election. House Oversight Chairman James Comer (R-KY) noted earlier this week that colleagues were counting on MAGA Inc. to deploy its funds ahead of the midterms.
