Speaking to reports in the Oval Office, Trump said he believes there is “close to a billion dollars” in his super PAC and that he plans to allocate “probably four or $500 million” toward the midterms.
“We’re going to spend a lot of money because we don’t want to lose our country,” Trump said.
According to a report by CNBC, Federal Election Commission (FEC) filings show that the PAC has significantly less cash than Trump suggested. MAGA Inc. reported $403.45 million in cash on hand at the end of July. The PAC has spent roughly $21 million since the start of 2025.
MAGA Inc is separate from Trump’s personal finances. The FEC classifies the committee as an “unauthorized” hybrid PAC, meaning it is not authorized by or formally affiliated with a specific candidate’s campaign.
Hybrid PACs can accept an unlimited number of contributions and can be used for independent expenditures, such as advertising, supporting, or opposing candidates. However, those funds cannot be directly contributed to an individual’s campaign.
MAGA Inc has reportedly become larger than the cash reserves of any major party committee. The PAC has increased its spending ahead of the midterms, including paying for an event in Michigan headlined by Vice President JD Vance.
Trump has said that he would personally have a say in which candidates and races receive financial support.
“I’m going to spend whatever amount of money necessary to try and help us,” Trump said. “This is my money that I control.”
On Wednesday, the president said he would be making “a lot of stops” to campaign for Republican candidates, including travelling to Alaska in support of Senator Dan Sullivan. With control of Congress expected to hinge on roughly 35 competitive races, Trump pledged to campaign in each of them.
"I’m going to go to every one of those 35 places, and we’re going to see if we can get everyone elected,” Trump said.
