The Federalist became the latest target of Twitter censorship on Wednesday when the outlet reported that the Big Tech giant began flagging their articles with "unsafe" warning links.
"The link you are trying to access has been identified by Twitter or our partners as being potentially spammy or unsafe," the warning reads, cautioning that the Federalist's content could be "violent or misleading."
The Federalist reported that they asked Twitter for an explanation as to why they started flagging their articles, but Twitter did not immediately respond. It seems that the warning links first appeared on The Federalist's report about the Biden Department of Justice spying on journalists.
Twitter has been very active this week, cracking down on conservative publications and commentators.
Charlie Kirk, founder of TPUSA, talk radio host and outspoken conservative commentator, was suspended from the platform on Tuesday after identifying President Joe Biden's assistant health secretary in the Department of Health and Human Services as a biological man, a factual statement that Twitter deemed "hateful."
"Richard Levine," Kirk wrote, "spent 54 years of his life as a man. He had a wife and family. He 'transitioned' to being a woman in 2011, Joe Biden appointed Levine to be a 4-Star Admiral, and now USA Today has named 'Rachel' Levine as a 'Woman of the Year'[.] Where are the feminists??"
Similarly, The Babylon Bee, a satirical site which stood up for women after USA Today named Levine "Woman of the Year" by turning around and naming Levine "Man of the Year," was suspending pending deletion of the offending tweet on Sunday.
Babylon Bee CEO Seth Dillon said that under no circumstances would the outlet delete the tweet. On Tuesday, editor-in-chief Kyle Mann was suspended from Twitter for making a joke that perhaps the outlet would be let back on Twitter "if we throw a few thousand Uighurs in a concentration camp."
After The Babylon Bee and Charlie Kirk caught Twitter bans for posting that Biden's assistant Health and Human Services secretary Rachel Levine is a "man," Tucker Carlson was censored by Twitter for pointing out that both the Bee and Kirk were telling the truth. His tweet, in defense of Kirk and the Bee, is no longer available on Twitter because it "violates the Twitter rules."
