Two teenagers in Oshawa have been charged after stabbing an online seller of Moose Knuckle jackets in Oshawa, CP24 reports.
Durham police were called at 3:30 pm on Monday to respond to a report of a robbery.
The victim, who is recovering in hospital with non life-threatening injuries, met up with the teenagers after advertising the jacket online. When one of the teenagers tried on the jacket, the other reportedly stabbed the victim.
Police arrived with a K-9 unit which helped locate the youth hiding a short distance from the scene. One of the dogs reportedly bit one of the suspects during their arrest.
The youth, aged 15 and 17, are being charged with robbery, assault with a weapon, and weapons dangerous to public peace. The teens, who are both from Oshawa, are awaiting a bail hearing. Neither suspects can be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
Police warned that those seeking to sell their items, especially expensive items such as Moose Knuckles jackets which retail for more than $1,000, should "meet the purchaser in a public place," "bring a friend," and "assess your surroundings carefully."
