WA Costco employee arrested for fatally ramming coworker on motorcycle with car after seeing crush get cozy with victim

A Costco employee in Washington has been arrested after being captured on video ramming his car into a coworker who was riding a motorcycle. The coworker was hurled into a pole off the roadway, killing him.

Tyler Sorensen, 22, was arrested for allegedly running his coworker, Jonathon Langdon, off the road after following him out of the Costco parking lot in Issaquah, Washington, after seeing him hug another female coworker. Samantha Peterson, the female coworker, is reportedly Sorensen's crush, per the New York Post.

Video of the incident allegedly showed Sorensen running into the back of Langdon's motorcycle, running him off the road and into the pole, which killed the motorcyclist instantly. “Langdon’s body is seen violently impacting the metal signpost, causing his body to wrap around the post and recoil backwards, landing face down,” court documents said. Langdon's motorcycle kept traveling forward after the impact.

“Langdon’s shirt was pulled up from his waist and there appeared to be an impact mark on his lower back. The impact mark appeared to match the metal sign post next to Langdon in width and the circular holes, which left visible matching marks on his skin,” court documents said.

Sorenson became enraged when he saw the male coworkers hug Peterson in the parking lot of the Costco Headquarters. Sorenson came only feet from striking Peterson and Langdon in the parking lot, where he then waited another 10 minutes to ride after Langdon in his car.

“Always told me he was just a friend. My blood is boiling,” Sorensen had texted to friends along with a picture of the two hugging, court documents said.

After Langdon was hit, Sorensen merely drove to the side of the road to check the damage to his vehicle before driving off, not checking on his coworker, who lay dead on the side of the road. When he was arrested for the crime later on, he allegedly admitted to the crime. “It was stupid but I… meant to do it," he said, per court documents. He added that he was "riled up" when he saw Langdon hug Peterson.

Peterson told authorities that the two never dated and that she repeatedly told Sorensen off previously.

During his Thursday arraignment on Thursday, Sorensen pleaded not guilty to the crime and his bail was set at $2 million by the judge.
