A violent illegal immigrant with an extensive criminal history is wanted by federal authorities after committing a vehicle ramming attack to evade arrest during a targeted immigration enforcement operation in Sacramento, California

Xa Lee, of Laos, reportedly weaponized his vehicle to strike US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers attempting to take him into custody on March 26. He fled the scene and remains at large.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) said that Lee, a fugitive from Laos, has a series of criminal convictions, including vehicle theft, stolen property, conspiracy, petty theft, two DUIs, resisting an officer, battery, and felony possession of a firearm. He was issued a final order of removal by a federal immigration judge in 2010.

"During the vehicle stop, Lee attempted to flee and hit an ICE officer with his vehicle. The officer, thankfully, did not sustain injuries," said DHS Acting Assistant Secretary Lauren Bis in a press release. "During the incident, ICE officers pulled their tasers. He fled the scene and remains at large. This is just the latest in a disturbing trend of vehicle attacks."

Since President Trump's 2025 return to the White House, attacks on ICE officers have increased due to the administration's increased immigration enforcement agenda. According to DHS, there's been a 3,200 percent increase in vehicular attacks against ICE law enforcement officers.

The federal agency slammed sanctuary politicians in its release, faulting California Democrat Governor Gavin Newsom and Los Angeles Democrat Mayor Karen Bass for advising illegal immigrants on how to evade arrest and disrupt ICE operations.

"We are calling on the public to report any sightings of this criminal illegal alien to ICE at (866) 347-2423," DHS said. Additionally, individuals who may know of Lee's whereabouts can fill out the ICE Tip Form online here.
