Ontario Premier Doug Ford took to the streets of Toronto on Monday to help Ontarian motorists get their vehicles back on the streets.

Ford said he would be helping those who are stranded, as a winter storm makes its way through much of southern Ontario and Quebec, with snow falling to the tune of 45-60 cm.

"I'm gonna make sure that people aren't stranded that's all, and dropping off a few people at their homes... Premier or no premier, you're here to help your neighbours right now.

"If you're shoveling, be careful, don't overexert yourself... Please, don't go feel it's essential to clear your snow right at this point," Ford told CP24 in an interview from his vehicle.

Environment Canada on Monday morning upgraded its snow warning to a blizzard warning. That warning has since been brought back to a winter storm warning.

Busses and other public transport have been spotted stuck in the snow, with Toronto police also announcing that the Don Valley Parkway and Gardiner Expressway would be closed off temporarily due to inclement weather.
