Joe Rogan on Tuesday on his storied podcast publicly predicted a win for Johnny Depp in his defamation lawsuit against his ex-wife, Amber Heard.
"I'm watching this trial, and like, it's a cautionary tale," he told guest, actress and producer Jessica Kirson. "It's a cautionary tale about believing in bullsh*t, forming a narrative in your head."
"You're seeing all the crazy come out ... He talked about her sh*tting in his bed!" Rogan said.
Depp has testified that Heard on one occasion had severed one of his fingers. On another occasion he alleged that she defecated on his side of their bed.
Rogan then pointed out that Heard appears to have been caught in at least one lie, even before taking the stand: "[Heard] said that she used this specific makeup to cover all of her bruises that Johnny gave her, which is not true."
"The problem is it was a specific makeup and it turns out, the company didn't even make that makeup at the time she claimed she was using it." The incident in question allegedly occurred in 2016, and the makeup in question went on the market in 2017.
"Wow. That's craz– really?" a shocked Kirson asked.
"But that's what happens with people like that," Rogan went on.
"People that are just completely manipulative and full of sh*t like that," Rogan then mentioned his colleague in stand-up comedy, Doug Stanhope. Stanhope knows both Depp and Heard very well.
"Stanhope's buddies with Johny Depp. He wrote something … like a little essay about how full of sh*t she is and she threatened to sue him."
"He knows her well and he's like, 'She's out of her f*cking mind.' Like, a crazy actress! Those are real. There's a lot of them."
"Of course! There's a ton of them! That's why they're good," Kirson joked.
"That's why they're good," concurred Rogan.
According to NBC News, "Depp is suing for $50 million in damages and denies ever being physically violent with Heard. Heard is countersuing for $100 million and claims she was only ever violent with Depp in self-defense or defense of her younger sister."
