Newly elected Republican Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) said on Wednesday that she plans to introduce articles of impeachment against Joe Biden during his first full day as President, The Hill reports.

"I would like to announce on behalf of the American people, we have to make sure our leaders are held accountable, we cannot have a president of the United States who is willing to abuse the power of the office of the presidency and be easily bought off by foreign governments, foreign Chinese energy companies, Ukrainian energy companies, so on Jan. 21, I will be filing articles of impeachment on Joe Biden," Greene announced over Newsmax.

Despite listing a number of reasons for impeaching Biden, Greene did not specify the exact charges she would level against the President-elect.

Greene referenced Biden's alleged connections to Ukrainian energy compay Burisma, of which his son Hunter Biden was on the board. This concern was brought to light in October of 2020 after leaked emails were reported in the New Yorl Post, having been derived from Hunter Biden's laptop, showed that the elder Biden may have had more involvement in the company than was previously known.

Greene also referenced Biden's alleged relationship with China, another controversy stemming from his son's business dealings. One email references holding money for "the big guy," which at least one former partner of the younger Biden's says refers to Joe Biden.

Biden has denied all involvement with his son's business dealings.

Greene, a vocal supporter of President Donald Trump, said that impeaching Biden would show Americans that "there are Republicans in Congress that are willing to stand up and fight for them."

She also clarified her stance on the Capitol Hill riot which took place last week, unequivocally condemning the violence.

"I’m a big believer of having people in office who are actually willing to do the job, and I can't imagine people in this country being so fearful of a future of a Biden presidency that they may be willing to commit violence like they did in the Capitol here in Washington, DC. We cannot have that, I do not condone that violence," Greene declared.

Greene's statement against Biden comes the day Trump was impeached for a second time by the House of Representatives. Although he is the first President to have been impeached twice, it is unlikely that he will be convicted by the Republican-controlled Senate.
