Texas Republican Senator Ted Cruz joined Sean Hannity on Fox News Wednesday to discuss the dire conditions at the US-Mexico border. Countless children are victims of sexual abuse and are on top of each in "COVID incubators."
"There [is a] high rate of COVID positivity at that border," said Sean Hannity. "Any American that is infected because Joe is not enforcing the laws of this country can blame Joe Biden for COVID. And if you die, I would blame Joe Biden too."
"Why won’t they stop this superspreader event?" Hannity asked Cruz. He replied: "People across the state of Texas and the country are pissed and should be pissed. People are dying, and Joe Biden doesn’t care."
Angered by the dire conditions at the border, Cruz went into detail on how the most vulnerable are treated. "Kids are getting sexually assaulted and raped, and Joe Biden and Kamala Harris don’t care," he said. "We’ve had over a million illegal immigrants [enter] in the past six months, and they don’t care."
Cruz said recently, 7,000 illegal immigrants came to Mcallen, Texas, most of whom tested positive for COVID-19. "To put that into perspective, Mcallen is a town of 41,000 people," adding, "That means 5 percent of the population consists of illegal immigrants who tested positive for COVID."
He denounced Biden for not enforcing the law and lecturing Texas and Florida, who relaxed public health measures. "[Biden] cannot stand that our schools are open," said Cruz, "He cannot stand that people are going back to work."
"These Democrats want to shut down your business, they want to shut down your church... your school, and all of this is wrong," said Cruz emphatically.
Hannity weighed in on the matter, stating: "For Americans, its vaccine and mask mandates, vaccine passports, but for Joe’s illegal immigrant population there’s no testing, high positivity rates, and you get to spreading it all around the country."
"They don’t get the vaccine," he said, "they get taken care of by the states, who are responsible for food, shelter, education, and health care. Is that about right?"
Cruz replied: "It’s even worse than that. The Biden cages, where they temporarily contain these folks — I’ve been there, in these tent cities was thousands upon thousands of kids, packed in on top of each other. I brought 19 senators with me, and the COVID rate of positivity was over 10 percent… These cages are COVID incubators."
He called out those folks who lectured "self-righteously" about science but who "didn’t give a flip about science… because it's all about power and control."
Hannity pointed out that if it weren’t for Cruz, he would not have been able to get his cameras into those facilities. "If it weren’t for [Cruz], we wouldn't have been able to show Biden’s over-crowded cages with kids on top of each other in the middle of a pandemic."
On vaccine mandates, Cruz said, "The left doesn’t believe in your privacy. It doesn’t believe in your freedom."
"They tried to portray it as an extreme choice," said Cruz. "They say if you think people [should have] individual choice, then you don’t believe in science and want everyone to die."
"I believe in science. You believe in science. This is a dangerous disease, and we’ve taken extraordinary steps to deal with it."
"When it comes to vaccines," said Cruz, "I believe in vaccines. I’ve been vaccinated. My family’s been vaccinated." Despite his pro-vaccination stance, Cruz remains a firm believer in "individual choice to decide whether or not you want to take the vaccine."
He trusts that people can "measure the costs and benefits" and believes there should be no mandates or vaccine passports. "These authoritarian Democrats want to mandate and forcibly stick a needle in your arm," said Cruz.
"It doesn't matter what you think."
"It doesn’t matter if you think you need it."
"They don’t care if you’ve had COVID and have natural immunity," said Cruz, adding, "It’s not about the science. It’s about controlling your lives."
"In times of crisis," he concluded, "someone’s character is revealed, and I think Biden and Harris… revealed their character."
