WATCH: The View's Sunny Hostin equates white Republican women to cockroaches

"What's also surprising to me is the abortion issue. I read a poll just yesterday that white, Republican, suburban women are now going to vote Republican. It's almost like roaches voting for Raid, right?" Hostin said.

On Thursday morning, Sunny Hostin, one of the cohosts on The View, attacked female Republican voters, likening them to "roaches."

"What's also surprising to me is the abortion issue. I read a poll just yesterday that white, Republican, suburban women are now going to vote Republican. It's almost like roaches voting for Raid, right?" Hostin said.

Fellow panelist and former assistant to Donald Trump, Alyssa Farah Griffin, quickly shot back at Hostin, accusing her of being "insulting to the voter."

Hostin continued to double down, adding that they were "voting against their own self-interest. Do they want to live in Gilead? Do they want to live in The Handmaid's Tale," referencing the dystopian and totalitarian regime from the popular book and tv series in which women live in forced sexual servitude.

Griffin was quick to fire back, asking "do we love democracy or not, because just saying that, it's insulting to the voter. People make up decisions on what's right for their family."

This isn't the first time Hostin has been slammed for her radical comments on The View. She belittled Indian-born Republican politician Nikki Haley and accused her of running from her heritage.

Griffin, a Republican and former Trump associate, joined The View as a permanent co-host in August of this year as a much-needed right-wing voice to the mostly Liberal cohort. She herself has faced backlash for her views and her association with Trump, including from members of her own family, some of whom boycotted her wedding last year.

A poll from the Wall Street Journal released on Wednesday has revealed that suburban white women are shifting away from the Democrat party over concerns relating to inflation and crime.

The poll found that this group of voters, which makes up around 20 percent of the electorate, has shifted a staggering 26 percentage points away from the Democrats since the Wall Street Journal’s poll in August. Suburban white women now favor the GOP by 15 percentage points.
