After years of vilifying the Trump administration for their handling of the U.S.-Mexico border situation, President Biden now finds himself the target of mounting criticism.

Nineteen U.S. senators have taken action, visiting the border in person to expose the reality of a situation Biden and his team claimed to have under control.

The senators have been sharing footage via Twitter.

"I'm down on the Texas border, along with eighteen senators.", Cruz begins.  "We made the trip to see the crisis that is playing out."

"We saw multiple mothers who were nursing infant babies, who'd just crossed over, and were being housed in outdoor holding pens, where they were sleeping on the floor and nursing their babies."

"We have been listening to and seeing cartel members; human traffickers right on the other side of the river ... taunting the border patrol, because they know that under the new policy of the Biden administration, they can flood over here.  They're getting paid $4-$5,000 a person to smuggle them into this country."

"Last month, 100,000 people came across the border illegally."

Cruz made it clear that the goal of the visit was to ensure that the Biden administration takes action to, "stop sanctioning lawless chaos on our southern border.

"The American people have a right to know what is happening here"

"The Donna facility is a giant tent city.  Built with a capacity of 250, it has nearly 4,000 people in it.  We saw cages, after cages, after cages, of little girls, of little boys."

"There was no six-foot space, there was no three-foot space; there wasn't a three inch space between the children."

Senator Lindsay Graham called the situation a "humanitarian tragedy, ... literally insane policy."

Senator Thom Tillis bashed the administration over their apparent lack of desire to acknowledge the problem.  "The next time Vice President Harris is asked if she's coming to the border, instead of laughing and saying 'not today', get down here, get informed, and recognize you've got a crisis, and it's on you to fix it, and we stand ready to help."
