The head government official leading the investigation into the Florida assassination attempt of Donald Trump is vocally biased against him, according to resurfaced disclosures from a whistleblower. This comes within one week of the GOP nominee facing another assassination attempt on his life after he was shot in during a July rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.

According to a whistleblower's account last year about Jeffrey Veltri, the FBI agent in charge of the Miami Bureau, the agent is "adamantly and vocally Anti-Trump," Fox News reported. The whistleblower's account was reported last year in the Washington Times, where it was revealed that Veltri was ordered to scrub his social media and delete any anti-Trump posts and commentary. This occurred right before he was promoted to become the agent in charge of the Miami office.

The account from the whistleblower reads, "The home of President Donald Trump is located in the area of responsibility of the Miami Field Office. It was well known that Veltri was adamantly and vocally Anti-Trump," and added, "[Christopher] Wray, [Paul] Abbate, and [Jennifer] Moore wanted to ensure that Veltri appeared non-political, Veltri was ordered to remove all of his Facebook and Social media posts that were Anti-Trump."

Veltri also reportedly oversaw efforts to suspend agents' security clearance if they were determined to be a "right-wing radical." Despite the reports and concern over his bias, Veltri was named as the agent in charge of the Miami field office in March 2023.

The whistleblower said that the FBI's top brass was directly involved in helping to scrub Veltri's social media. The report citing the accusations said that FBI leaders were not concerned with his apparent anti-Trump bias, but more so that “information related to Veltri’s political bias can be removed from the public domain."

The Washington Times report resurfaced this week after Veltri took the podium on Monday for a press conference and stated, "We view this as extremely serious and are determined to provide answers as to what led up to the events that took place."

"I want to emphasize we are just a little over 24 hours into this investigation, so we are going to provide as much as we can publicly while our investigation is ongoing," Veltri added. "We must also stress the U.S. attorney’s office is pursuing charges, and that limits some details we can publicly disclose."

Last Sunday, Trump was targeted by Ryan Routh, a pro-Ukraine, Democrat activist, who had waited on the GOP nominee's golf course for around 12 hours to target him with an AK-style gun. He was fired upon after Secret Service spotted him, Routh fled, and was later arrested.
