Whoopi Goldberg tells Dylan Mulvaney, View cohosts she does not know why men playing in women's sports 'is an issue'

In Monday’s episode of The View featuring transgender TikToker Dylan Mulvaney, best known for the "Days of Girlhood" series showcasing the biological male's sex change, co-host Whoopi Goldberg questioned why trans-identified males competing against women was an "issue," saying that female athletes "know what they’re doing."

"When you come in and say, oh, you know, these men are—these are men competing against women, you’re assuming that the women are weak and just can’t do anything," she said. "Have you seen female athletes? They know what they’re doing. So I’m not sure what’s going on or why this is an issue."

Goldberg’s comments were widely panned on social media, with Sall Grover, founder of female-only app Giggle, writing, "Whoopie Goldberg on males in female sport: 'I’m not sure why this is an issue.' Because high school boys can win against the best women athletes in the world. That’s why it’s an issue. Males & females are different. That’s why female sport exists. FFS."

Former University of Kentucky swimmer Riley Gaines wrote, "I will never not be impressed by how unintellectual and out of touch the women of The View are lol. Absolutely remarkable."

Founder and CEO of clothing brand XX-XY Athletics Jennifer Sey wrote, "This is so dumb. We are fighting for equal opportunity & safety for women. They are telling us to shut up & give men what they want." She added in a video, "it is a fact: women are not as fast or as strong as men. That is why we have women’s sports, that’s why we have Title IV. The worst player in the NBA would absolutely crush in the WNBA."

Megyn Kelly wrote, "Why is it the whole world can acknowledge that women are at a strength disadvantage when it comes to the risk of sexual assault/rape but when it comes to athletics the message is: 'women are as strong as men! You got this ladies!!’" 

Maine State Rep. Laurel Libby, who was censored after speaking out against a high school trans-identified male competing against female athletes despite Trump's executive order against this, wrote, "The hosts of The View are so wildly disconnected from the views of a *vast majority* of Americans and it shows... Biological males competing in girls' sports is deeply unpopular and viewed by most as a bizarre, radical hill that Democrat politicians are choosing to die on."
