A Chester County, Pennsylvania woman was allegedly attacked and killed by her ex-boyfriend earlier this month while her two young children were present, PhillyVoice reports.
Virginia State police arrested Danelo Cavalcante, 31, of Royersford, Montgomery County after allegedly fleeing the scene of the crime.
33-year-old Deborah Brandao was reportedly outside with her 7-year-old daughter and 3-year-old son on the Sunday that Cavalcante showed up to the Schuylkill Township residence.
Cavalcante reportedly pulled Brandao to the ground by her hair and proceeded to pull two knives from his bag and stabbed her at least a dozen times.
Brandao told her daughter to run for help, who then went to a neighbor's house to call 911.
When Police showed up to the Pawling Road residence Cavalcante had already fled the scene. Officers attempted life-saving measures but Brandao was pronounced dead at Paoli hospital.
"This is a heartbreaking tragedy. Two children are left without a mother. The pain these children and all of Deborah's loved ones are enduring as a result of this depravity is horrific," said Chester County District Attorney Deb Ryan. "We will ensure that the defendant is brought to justice for this cold-blooded, premeditated, and despicable act."
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) confirmed to Breitbart News that Cavalcante is an illegal alien and that they have requested that he remain in local jail until they can take him into federal custody for arrest and deportation from he United States.
Cavalcante is facing first-degree and third-degree murder and aggravated assault charges in Chester County.
