Toronto police responded to a call at 1:27am on Sunday morning, leading them to an illegal party at a commercial building on Dundas Street West in Toronto, where they found upwards of 150 people gathered.

Approximately $13,000 worth of alcohol was seized by authorities, and 24 people are now facing charges in connection with the event which broke Toronto's lockdown restrictions.

According to CTV News, the original call was to a dispute in an alley nearby, but, "On arrival, officers could hear loud music and people at a nearby property," police said. They obtained entry and observed the illegal party in full swing, with around 150 maskless people mingling and drinking.

People immediately began to run away upon seeing the officers show up, but the officers managed to apprehend 24 of them, who are now charged under the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act.

The Toronto Police's 52nd Division is handling the case, and are asking the public to come forward with any other relevant information which may lead to further arrests and charges being laid.

Toronto continues to be under strict lockdown regulations due to the pandemic, and delays in the rollout of the vaccine.
