Police are looking for witnesses after a highway incident claimed the life of a 16-year-old male on Monday night around 10:30pm.

Police are looking for witnesses after a highway incident claimed the life of a 16-year-old male on Monday night around 10:30pm.

The incident happened near the intersection of Highways 7 and 12, in the area of Brock Township, ON within the limits of Durham Region.

According to CP24, the 16-year-old male pedestrian was on rollerblades when he was struck and killed by a vehicle.

Police iterate that the driver involved in the collision remained at the scene and has given a statement. This is not a hit and run incident. It is assumed at this time that witnesses are needed for the purpose of corroboration.

Anyone who has any information whatsoever related to this ongoing case is being asked to immediately contact the Ontario Provincial Police.
