Te'Lea Jefferson, 23 years of age, was arrested in Tallahassee FL on Tuesday for allegedly beating a 3-year-old boy to death with a tire iron.

Jefferson is now facing charges of murder and aggravated battery regarding the boy's death.

According to the Tallahassee Democrat, Jefferson was interviewed by investigators, and commented that she saw blood spraying as she mercilessly used the tire iron on the boy.

She had taken the boy to the hospital at 6:58 p.m. on Tuesday, who, according to records, arrived unresponsive, with severe trauma to the head and face, and with a body temperature of just over 31 degrees Celsius. He was pronounced dead minutes later.

She had originally told police that the boy was brushing his teeth while standing on the sink and had fallen, causing the injuries. She later changed her story and confessed to the heinous crime.

The boy was living with Jefferson, his 6-year-old brother and an unidentified parent of the boys at the time. Jefferson would care for the boys while the parent, with whom she said in the interview she had a relationship, was working.

Both the victim and his older brother were examined and signs of previous physical abuse were found. The 6-year-old has now been made a ward of the state and removed from the household.
