A violent illegal alien who admitted to child sex crimes and sought refuge in the sanctuary state of Oregon after multiple deportations has been sentenced to roughly one year in prison for illegal reentry. Javier Osorio-Altamira, 50, of Mexico, will be removed from the United States for the fourth time upon the completion of his prison term. He was sentenced on Tuesday in federal court, the Oregon US Attorney's Office announced

Osorio-Altamira pleaded guilty on June 3, 2026, to illegal reentry in the US District Court for Oregon. He was indicted on the charge by a federal grand jury in Eugene, Oregon, in 2016.

US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) announced his re-arrest on April 22, 2026. Osorio-Altamira racked up a series of felony convictions and pending charges during his time unlawfully residing in the sanctuary state, according to court records.

Court documents show that Osorio-Altamira has been deported from the US on three prior occasions. During his first illegal stay, Osorio-Altamira was arrested in 2015 for threatening to kill a woman while holding a 12-inch knife. He attempted to force his way into her apartment. The illegal alien was convicted of unlawful use of a weapon and removed from the US on June 10, 2025.

On April 16, 2016, ICE arrested Osorio-Altamira for immigration crimes after he illegally returned to the US. He was removed from the US on May 20, 2016, and again on June 4, 2016.

On September 9, 2025, Osorio-Altimira was arrested on child sex abuse charges in Marion County. He was accused of allegedly sexually touching a child on numerous occasions. He later admitted to sexually touching a child and said he committed the crime in exchange for a $25 Roblox gift card, according to a sentencing memo obtained by KOIN. Despite his crimes and unlawful immigration status, Marion County released him back into the community

The US Attorney's Office for the District of Oregon said that Osorio-Altamira never sought to obtain legal status.

The state of Oregon has a history of releasing criminal illegal aliens from custody who go on to reoffend. This is because of Oregon's sanctuary statute that prohibits local and state officials from cooperating with federal authorities for immigration-related matters. Oregon Democrats re-strengthened the state's sanctuary law earlier this year, opposing the Trump administration's crackdown on illegal immigration.
