"Donald Trump made it clear he doesn't want Nikki Haley's supporters," the statement read. "I want to be clear: There is a place for them in my campaign."
"The time has now come to suspend my campaign," Haley told supporters.
Phelan and Covey will face a run-off election in May.
Reports of the candidate suspending the campaign came after Super Tuesday.
Trump was called the winner early morning on Wednesday.
"He is the clear 'America First' candidate, and is as loyal and tough as they come," Trump wrote in December.
The race was called shortly after the former President concluded a victory speech following decisive wins in Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Maine, Massachusetts, Minnesota, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia.
"They call it Super Tuesday for a reason."
The race was called at 10:37 pm with 83 percent of the vote in.
Palmer has qualified for the presidential ballot in just 16 states.
The association, which has steered away from other America First candidates, has thrown its support behind Robinson after his win.
Donald Trump was declared the winner of the Minnesota GOP primary at 8:27 pm local time with two percent of the vote counted.
The vote win came in with about 43 percent of the vote in on Tuesday night a little after 9 p.m. EST
At the time the race was called, the former president was leading former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley by 44.9 points.
