An organization aimed at removing Florida Governor Ron DeSantis from office has released a new video that was supposed to be slamming DeSantis, but instead is being mocked for missing the target, with many conservatives viewing the add as praising DeSantis' leadership.

The add features people flying into Florida. A flight attendant tells the passengers over the intercom to watch a brief message from DeSantis regarding COVID-19. The message is filled with clips of DeSantis telling Floridians that he is not enforcing vaccine passports, restrictions, mandates, or lockdowns.

"I guess it's like a Rorschach blot. Maybe there's some people who watch that and thought 'I don't want to go to Florida.' Most normal people watch that and said that seems like good governance to me," Tucker Carlson said on Thursday's episode of Tucker Carlson Tonight.

Guest Jesse Kelly said that the video was not being agreed with by most Americans, it's half of all Americans at best.

"I think maybe half the country looked at that video and thought they wanted to go to Florida I think people look at those videos you were just playing from Australia. And I think half the country wants that here. I do not think we are a one nation anymore. We are at least two separate nations," said Kelly.

Daily Wire editor emeritus Ben Shapiro mocked the ad, saying that the ad should feature cutaway of people resuming normal life within Florida.

"This reminds me of my recent flight back from CA to FL, and my complete and utter relief at being in a state where the governor says things like 'We trust people to make their own decisions in this state.' Honestly, did Ron DeSantis write this commercial?" Shapiro wrote on Twitter.

"Also, 'The Florever Purge'? This is so bad the Lincoln Project must be in some way connected to it," Shapiro said. "But I do hope that covid-panicked already-vaxxed blue state Democrats watch this video and stay the hell out and leave us alone. So it’s a win for everybody!"

"I need this recut so that the cutaways to Florida are of people eating at restaurants, going to the beach, and attending sports games. Because that's the reality out here. We're living life normally,” he added.

National Review senior writer Charles Cooke called the ad "one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen."

"The best part is when they amp up the scary music while DeSantis says, 'We trust people to make their own decisions in this state, we’re not going to be bludgeoning people,'" Cooke said. "The plane lands, and then the screen flashes 'terrifyingly evil,' by which point in real life everyone on board would have alighted and been on their merry way to Universal Studios."

"And the juxtapositions are delicious. DeSantis says 'if you’re trying to lock people down, I'm going to stand in your way.' And the screen flashes 'A DARK DYSTOPIAN STORY,'" he continued.
