In a recent interview with Global Edmonton, Canadian Researcher Vivian Krause discussed an extremely interesting backstory to what’s really behind the campaign against the Alberta Oil Sands. According to Krause the ‘Tar Sands Campaign,’ is funded by wealthy Americans such as the Rockefeller Brothers Fund and involves money going to the controversial Tides Foundation. The organization even brags on their website "All the proposed pipelines in Canada have effectively been blocked."

Who benefits and why?

U.S. oil companies win the longterm as Canda's stunted pipelines drastically reduce the capacity for real growth, while U.S. consumers also benefit in the short term through extremely discounted Canadian oil.
