An Antifa member pleaded guilty on Tuesday to robbing a Portland-area 7-11 and pointing a gun at the clerk's head, after having been arrested and released multiple times which resulted in several additional felony crimes.

Jarrod Deferrari pleaded to first-degree robbery with a firearm, unlawful use of a weapon with a firearm, and attempted first-degree burglary. Judge Andrew Erwin then sentenced the defendant to seven and a half years in prison without the possibility of time reductions or early release.

Deferrari still has an open felony case from allegedly smashing the windows of multiple buildings including a church during an Antifa riot after the 2020 election.

Deferrari was arrested the night of November 4, 2020, after a riot in downtown Portland, Oregon where he allegedly smashed the windows of multiple buildings, including the St. Andre Bessette Catholic church.

He was released the next day after being charged with riot and first-degree criminal mischief.

While on release for the riot case, on May 19, 2021, Deferrari robbed a convenience store in Beaverton, Oregon. According to court documents, he entered the store masked and wearing black from head to toe, jumped the counter with a pistol in hand, and aimed the gun in the clerk’s face and demanded the cash drawer be opened.

Deferrari fled the scene which was captured on surveillance cameras.

Meanwhile, the defendant’s squatting in a nearby vacant home came to the attention of WCSO patrol deputies. On May 21, 2021, fire crews responded to a report of smoke from the home which Deferarri was squatting in and were forced to withdraw after realizing he was armed with a gun.

Deferrari was arrested on a city bus from Beaverton to Portland while armed with a 12-gauge shotgun and a pistol on May 29. He was charged with weapons offenses in Multnomah County and also arrested for the incident on May 21. Once again he was released.

On June 3 Deferrari was arrested after deputies spotted Deferrari returning to the vacant home and was again released.

On June 8, authorities found Deferrari inside the vacant home again and arrested him for first-degree burglary. According to court documents, Deferrari spray-painted Antifa graffiti inside the home.

Detectives connected Deferrari to the 7-11 robbery after patrol staff and a sergeant recognized him in surveillance images circulated in a bulletin about the robbery. Investigators matched various items to the robbery, including items found in the vacant house and the pistol seized by police.
