Leftist student organizations, including black bloc Antifa militants, have a history of organizing to disrupt conservative speakers on campus.
Cole, a conservative activist who speaks out against the dangers of sex change surgeries for minors, is scheduled to speak from 6 to 8 pm at UW's Kane Hall. Cole underwent a sex change at the age of 15 after struggling with gender dysphoria, then at 16, she began detransitioning after feeling regret and experiencing physical and mental ramifications.
The two student groups, which are largely anti-Israel and anarchist, have uploaded a protest flyer on Instagram urging the University of Washington administration to cancel Cole's speaking event and ban TPUSA from campus. They falsely claim late-TPUSA founder Charlie Kirk, a devout Christian who was assassinated last September, was a "Nazi" who spewed so-called "hate speech."
"Charlie Kirk was a rightwing Nazi Trump supporter and public speaker who visited college campuses across the United States to spout hatespeech and create viral clips," the groups wrote. "His organization, Turning Point USA, shares his fascist views against minorities. This Wednesday, 5/13, the UW TPUSA chapter, a registered student organization, is hosting a transphobic grifter from 6-8 pm at Kane Hall."
The protest has garnered support from Antifa-affiliated trans activists, who have issued calls on social media for the disruption to be violent.
Turning Point USA at UW promoted the event online last week. It is titled "Pick up the mic initiative with Chloe Cole."

Leftist student organizations, including black bloc Antifa militants, have a history of organizing to disrupt conservative speakers on campus. Last year, Seattle Antifa members brutally confronted elderly individuals attending a TPUSA Riley Gaines speaking event. Antifa chased the attendees to their cars and threatened them with death for attending Gaines' event, in which she advocated for keeping men out of women's sports.
