A now-fired Army Reserve Lieutenant Colonel Adam Harmon, a 44-year-old diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) specialist, has been exposed for living a double life. Over the course of six years, Harmon, a married gay man, maintained a secret X account under the username "franzkafka2007," where he allegedly posted explicit gay pornography, including images and videos of himself engaging in sexual acts in uniform.

The New York Post first reported the discovery on Thursday, detailing Harmon's online actions dating back at least to 2018. Several photos and videos he captured appeared to have been created within military settings, such as barracks and when he was deployed overseas. After he was ousted in the media, Harmon expressed embarrassment and regret.

"Serving this country in uniform for 24 years has been the greatest honor of my life. That's why I am deeply sorry for the lapse in judgment that brought embarrassment to the Army, my unit and myself," Harmon told The Post. "This occurred during an especially lonely chapter of my life, but I take full responsibility. I believe in accountability, in learning from our mistakes and is using them as a path to grow - and that's exactly what I intend to do here."

Harmon has since deleted the risque X account after his double life was made public. He has also been terminated from his position, Harmon's reps told the outlet.

In September 2023, Harmon posted a photo on the X account that included a military cap with his lieutenant colonel insignia and three sex devices. He also posted two videos of himself masturbating in uniform, in which one of the videos appeared to be taken from the barracks.

Harmon has since deleted the account

In August 2023, the senior officer shared a photo of himself in camo pants, exposing his naked buttocks. Harmon captioned the X post: "A few guys have been very into f*cking me in uniform lately, so why not."

Harmon also shared a graphic photo of himself on a luxurious hotel bed, where he was hunched over with his shorts pulled down. "I have this stupid big room in Dubai on the Palm and no one to top me," he wrote in the caption. The photo was taken in the United Arab Emirates in November 2024. This photo was taken when Harmon was stationed in Kuwait on deployment, according to US Army Reserve records obtained by The Post.

Additionally, the lieutenant colonel shared two sexually explicit photos of himself that were captured by other men, one of which shows him performing oral sex. Neither of the men appeared to be Harmon's husband, Lt. Col. Peter Bennett. However, Harmon has shared sexually suggestive photos of Bennett on the account on separate occasions.

Sean Timmons, a former captain in the US Army JAG Corps, said that Harmon likely violated several military rules when using that X account. "They could throw the book at this individual," he told the paper. "For something this egregious, they could go for court-martial."

"Right off the top, Conduct Unbecoming Article 133," he continued, further explaining, "because that would be behavior that is not in accordance with being an officer and a gentleman. Lewd conduct, indecent behavior, service discrediting, violation of lawful orders. There's a bunch of rules being violated here. There's probably even more."

Timmons also noted that Harmon's account and postings may have violated security clearance guideline D, which established standards for sexual behavior among individuals seeking any level of security clearance. "He could be facing extortion from the enemy for this coming out publicly," said Timmons. "He could compromise secrets and confidential information in exchange for not having this behavior exposed. So, he should have his security clearance reviewed and possibly revoked."

The former Army JAG Corps captain told The Post that Harmon's spouse, Bennett, could also face repercussions.
