A fan has been arrested after allegedly throwing a sex toy onto the WNBA court during a Golden State Valkyries-Atlanta Dream game. The individual will be banned from all games for at least one year in addition to getting arrested.

A July 29 WNBA game was interrupted when a green dildo was thrown onto the court during the fourth quarter with just minutes remaining. The moment quickly became viral online, being the source of numerous memes. On Saturday, August 2, the league said that the fan who had thrown the sex toy onto the court had been arrested for the incident. The WNBA said that if anyone else decides to throw objects onto the court, they will be ejected from the game and banned for at least one year from games.

"The safety and well-being of everyone in our arenas is a top priority for our league. Objects of any kind thrown onto the court or in the seating area can pose a safety risk for players, game officials, and fans," the WNBA said, per Outkick. "In line with WNBA Arena Security Standards, any fan who intentionally throws an object onto the court will be immediately ejected and face a minimum one-year ban in addition to being subject to arrest and prosecution by local authorities."

After the dildo was thrown onto the court, there was a pause in gameplay while an officer removed the sex toy from the court. A similar incident took place on Friday, where a similarly made green dildo was thrown onto the court during the Valkyries and the Chicago Sky game.

"It's super disrespectful. I don't really get the point of it," said Sky center Elizabeth Williams. "It's really immature. Whoever is doing it needs to grow up."

Indiana Fever's Sophie Cunningham, who recently made headlines after aggressively defending her teammate Caitlin Clark after a player lunged at Clark during a game, said in response to the incident, "Stop throwing dildos on the court… you’re going to hurt one of us."
