It has been revealed that Ashley Biden owes thousands in unpaid income taxes dating as far back as 2015.

The president's daughter, the only child he has with first lady Jill Biden, was informed by the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue that she must pay the $5,000 in back taxes lest the state seize her property.

According to a tax docket lien obtained by Fox News, Ashley Biden was notified by the PDR in Philadelphia County on Dec. 1 that "the amount of such unpaid tax, interest, additions or penalties is a lien in favor of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania upon the taxpayer's property – real, personal, or both – as the case may be."

The document shows that the period in question begins January 1, 2015, and ends January 1, 2021. She held a number of jobs during that time, including a stint at the Delaware Center for Justice which led to her creating her own fashion brand, and helped with her father's presidential campaign.

In an interview with Fox News, former Trump aide and founder of the conservative nonprofit group Marco Polo, Garrett Ziegler criticized the president's daughter, but noted that what she had done was a drop in the bucket compared to her brother.
"The scale is not anything like Hunter," Ziegler said, "but … Joe is constantly talking about how wealthy and connected people do not pay their fair share and can afford to pay more, and it just so happens that both of his living children did not pay their taxes."

He said the whole situation was "just another example of the Bidens being careless," adding, "you'd think that they would show a little bit more prudence when you're the American first family to make sure you don't have any tax liens on you, especially going into an election year."

A lien is a legal claim filed by the government on one's possessions to ensure repayment of debt.
