An attempt at a prank robbery on Sunday night in Nashville meant for a YouTube video went horribly wrong, and wound up costing Timothy Wilks his life.

"20 year old Nashville youtuber [sic] Timothy Wilks was killed after he approached a group of guys with butcher knives as part of a 'prank' robbery for youtube.. shooter said he was unaware of the prank & shot him to defend himself & others. No one has been charged in Wilks' death."

According to the BBC, the above tweet is corroborated; the 23-year-old shooter reasonably believed he was acting in self-defense, and as such, no arrests have been made or charges laid in connection with the incident.

Ironically, considering the possibility that Wilks and others like him try to make videos like this to get noticed on platforms like YouTube, YouTube itself has had a strict ban on videos of dangerous or threatening pranks like this for over two years now.

Threats with weapons and/or fake robberies are listed specifically as violations which would have the video removed and even possibly cause an account to be cancelled.
