The movement to defund the police and a sentiment of police hatred can be found at the core of the Biden campaign. A staffer for Joe Biden, presumed presidential nominee for the Democrats, called police worse than pigs—noting the intelligence of the animals in comparison to cops—and advocated for the defunding of the public safety service. This according to Fox News.

Sara Pearl shared a meme that read: "Please stop calling cops "pigs"... Pigs are highly intelligent & empathetic animals who would never racially profile you."

Pearl is a supervising video editor for the Biden campaign. She also tweeted out a comment of another user that read "pigs are sweet, intelligent and compassionate."

She tweeted out "#DefundPolice," stated that the police department in Buffalo should be "defunded immediately."

Pearl took issue with the NRA's offering of condolences in 2016 after Dallas police officers were killed by sniper fire, stating "Of course they respond to the officers but not to the previous shootings :("

Biden has said that police funding should "absolutely" be directed, but his campaign stated that he's not in support of defunding the police. In an interview with Now This, Biden said:

"One of the things that we also need to be doing is fundamentally changing the way we deal with our prison system. It should be a rehabilitation system, not a punishment system. We're going to make sure you're qualified for every single right you had before you went to prison if you served your time."
