During a press briefing on Thursday, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre accidentally said "President Obama" when she intended to reference Joe Biden.
"So today, as you all saw just an hour or so ago, President Obama announced that—pardon me, President Biden," Jean-Pierre said. She caught her gaffe and then exclaimed a prolonged, "Whoa."
On Twitter, Newsmax host Benny Johnson said she was saying the "Quiet part out loud."
Others on Twitter said she "She didn't make a mistake she spoke the truth" and said she was a "clown."
This is far from the first of gaffes for Jean-Pierre. Earlier in February, Jean-Pierre referred to Canada as "Canadia" while attempting to explain NORAD's role in the downing of unidentified high altitude objects over Canadian airspace.
In January, Today News Africa reporter Simon Aterba asked the Press Secretary about additional classified documents were found at Joe Biden's Wilmington, Delaware homes and said "Karine, since you don't have any answer on the classified documents, you don't seem a good fit for this job."
In August of last year, after the Inflation Reduction Act passed along party lines, Jean-Pierre said people should worry about how the bill works after it goes into effect.
"Let's get this bill passed and then we'll see how the mechanics and all of that's gonna work," she said, echoing similar statements by House Speaker Nancy Pelos in 2010 when she was speaking about the Affordable Care Act and said, "we have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it."
"Does President Biden think America’s big cities are safe?" to which Jean-Pierre said, "It’s not a yes or no question" and that "crime is complicated and multifaceted."
The flub comes admid reports that Democrats are creating potential alternate scenarios in case Biden, who turned 80 in November, decides not to run.
