Patrisse Cullors, the self-identified Marxist who helped found the Black Lives Matter (BLM ) movement, has admitted that some $90 million in funds the organization received were mismanaged.
However, she claims that it's not fair to "weaponize" this mismanagement against her or the organization – with which she is no longer affiliated, in large part due to these same financial scandals – because they, she claims, were "not prepared to handle the influx in cash" at the time.
According to the Daily Mail, Cullors told the press on Monday that "white folks" for some reason, were largely responsible for this sudden inflow of cash.
"You know, contrary to what, you know, has been reported, much of the funding that came in was from individual donors," Cullors stated. "That was a lot of white guilt money. There's a lot of white folks being like, 'We just got to put the money.'''
Cullors had previously given a similar interview, discussing a much smaller amount of $6 million, which, in her own words, was used for such things as hosting parties.
It had also previously been revealed that BLM had paid almost a million dollars over time to a security consulting firm, which is owned by Paul Cullors, Patrisse's brother.
