A mass stabbing has occurred at the Fulton County Jail, where 2024 GOP frontrunner President Donald Trump and his 18 co-defendants were booked last week.

The Fulton County Sheriff’s Office said that at least two people have been injured and a third killed inside the jail, according to the Daily Mail. It is unclear how many were injured overall and how many assailants there were.

The stabbings come just days after an inmate was killed after filing a civil rights complaint citing excessive force, marking the fourth death in the jail in the last month.

A DOJ probe was launched in July into the jail following claims of unsanitary conditions as violence against inmates.

In September 2022, mentally ill inmate LaShawn Thompson reportedly died in his dirty jail cell, with his family claiming that he was eaten alive by bed bugs.

The jail has been accused of years of malpractice, and eight inmates have died within its walls since the start of the year.

DOJ officials said that it launched its investigation into the facility due to "credible allegations that an incarcerated person died covered in insects and filth, that the Fulton County Jail is structurally unsafe, that prevalent violence has resulted in serious injuries and homicides, and that officers are being prosecuted for using excessive force."

Trump called out the conditions of the jail in an email newsletter after his arrest, saying that it had "poor and disgraceful conditions."

"Seeing the third-world state of that jail made me even more determined to run for president and save our country from permanent decline."

This is a breaking story and will be updated.
