"They seemed great! On the surface. For like an hour."
A former CNN reporter recounted an experience of being "haunted" by a dinner with "closeted" and seemingly "normal" Trump supporters on Sunday.
Senior editor at Human Events Jack Posobiec read off a thread from former CNN reporter Michelle Kosinski in his show on Monday. The reporter recalled the experience over the weekend. Posobiec commented at the end of reading off the thread that Kosinski kept herself in an "information silo"; something that Kosinski had accused the Trump supporters of in the thread.
"A few weeks ago, I had dinner with a few couples, friends of friends, all American. All were well-educated and successful in careers. They seemed great! On the surface. For like an hour. But slowly, over a few drinks, they began to let slip their true MAGA natures," the reporter posted.
She said that one couple was made up of two people who had gone to an elite college and then added, "But now that it was university time for their own kids, they were adamantly NOT letting them apply to any ivies. And were weird about explaining why. Though the kids were double legacies."
Kosinski went on in her thread about how her friends had not informed her that she was having dinner with "closeted MAGAts." Kosinski also added that when debate surrounding politics came up, the Trump supporters declined. She attributed their lack of wanting to debate politics to the them realizing "that a few in their presence came armed with (gasp) actual facts (NO!)."
She then wrote, "This dinner continues to haunt me. They all seemed so... normal. When I asked the couple who were my old friends how THEY didn't know, they said that in their upscale FL neighborhood, people are extremely careful not to ever broach or debate the subject."
Kosinski was heavily criticized for her comments with many people responding to her bias against conservatives.
