The House held a second vote for Speaker on Tuesday afternoon, mirroring the first vote on Monday. The second, like the first, failed to reach enough votes for any one nominee to take the post.

Rep Tom Cole nominated Jordan on the floor, while Rep Pete Aguilar nominated House Minority leader Hakeem Jeffries. Jeffries retained the votes of his full Democrat caucus while the Republicans splintered among themselves, despite being the majority party.

Reps Don Bacon, Lori Chavez-Deremer, Carlos Gimenez, Jen Kiggans, and Mike Lawler voted for Kevin McCarthy.

Reps Mario Díaz-Balart, Drew Ferguson, Tony Gonzalez, Kay Granger, John Henry Rutherford, Michael Simpson, and Steve Womak voted for Steve Scalise. Reps Anthony D'Esposito, Andrew Garbarino, and Nick LaLota voted for Steve Scalise.

Rep Vern Buchanan changed his vote from Jordan on Monday to Byron Donalds.

Ken Buck voted for Tom Emmer. Jake Ellzey voted for Mike Garcia, while John James voted for Candace Miller, and Mike Kelly voted for former House Speaker John Boehner. Rep Mariannette Miller-Meeks voted for Kay Granger, and Pete Stauber voted for Bruce Westerman.

During the Monday vote, 200 House Republicans voted for Jordan, falling short of the 217 needed to be elected. All Democrats, 212, voted for Jeffries.

20 GOP members voted for others for the role on Monday, with Reps. Lori Chavez-Deremer McCarthy, Don Bacon, Carlos Gimenez, Jennifer Kiggans, Mike Lawler, and Doug LaMalfa voting for Kevin McCarthy.

Reps. Anthony D'Esposito, Andrew Garbarino, and Nick LaLota voted for former US Rep. Lee Zeldin. Reps. Mario Díaz-Balart, Tony Gonzalez, Kay Granger, Mike Kelly, John Henry Rutherford, Mike Simpson, and Steve Womack voted for Steve Scalise, who dropped out last week from consideration. Rep Jake Ellzey voted for Mike Garcia. Rep Ken Buck voted for Tom Emmer, while Rep John James voted for Tom Cole and Victoria Spartz voted for Thomas Massie.

This is a breaking story and will be updated.
