Toronto Police and City officials entered Adamson BBQ early this morning with locksmiths and changed door locks in an attempt to keep the restaurant owner out of his business and stop him from reopening for a third straight day.

Owner Adam Skelly showed up at his Etobicoke restaurant after they had arrived and spoke with officers.

City of Toronto Spokesperson Brad Ross told media that Skelly was allowed to enter a portion of the building where there is no access to the restaurant. According to Ross, the business owner was allowed to gather personal belongings.

A large police presence is surrounding the restaurant to bar people from entering the property.

Yesterday, when speaking to The Post Millennial, Skelly said “I will continue to act in noncompliance with these orders and see what kind of support we have today.” He added, “If anyone sees this as an inspiration to stand up and open their business, that’s amazing.”

This morning Skelly told the Toronto Sun's Joe Warmington that "you'll see" what his plan is and the lock is not re-opened.

He said he plans on opening for lunch if there is any way he can do it.

Skelly gained media attention across Canada after he opened his restaurant in defiance of pandemic-related lockdowns in the Toronto region. Skelly criticized the lockdowns, suggesting that they were destroying small businesses. He also noted how much support he had gotten from local Torontonians for defying the orders.
