In a surprise move, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi agreed to President Donald Trump's demands for $2000 stimulus checks for every American.

Ocasio-Cortez called on her friends in Congress to back Trump as well.

"Let’s do it. @RashidaTlaib and I already co-wrote the COVID amendment for $2,000 checks, so it’s ready to go.

"Glad to see the President is willing to support our legislation. We can pass $2k checks this week if the Senate GOP agrees to stand down."

President Trump on Tuesday evening said that he would not sign the hard-fought COVID relief bill until Americans were given $2000 stimulus checks instead of the paltry $600.

Trump also demanded that Congress cut the fat from the spending bill, saying that Americans should hold onto American funds and not ship it over seas to try to mend problems in other nations.

In his speech to Americans on Tuesday, Trump slammed Congress for their wasteful spending and refusal to give more aid to US citizens.

"Throughout the summer, Democrats cruelly blocked COVID relief legislation in an effort to advance their extreme left-wing agenda and influence the election."

"It's taken forever," he said. "However, the bill they are now planning to send back to my desk is much different than anticipated. It really is a disgrace."

This bill contains $85.5 million for assistance to Cambodia, $134 million to Burma, $1.3 billion for Egypt—which will buy almost exclusively Russian military equipment, Trump alleged—$25 million for democracy and gender programs in Pakistan, $505 million to Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, and Panama.
