President Biden gave remarks in Poland on Wednesday to speak about the war in Ukraine, and Russia's invasion of their neighboring nation one year ago. Biden was in Ukraine on Monday visiting with President Zelensky, where he gave another $500 million to their war effort. Biden gave Putin advanced warning that he was heading to the region.

"Kyiv stands strong," he said to cheers from the crowd, saying that the capitol was free, and that Russia's invasion created a "test for the ages" in which "all democracies were being tested." Biden has repeatedly said that the US spends as much as it takes and stand as long as it takes to relieve Ukraine of Russian aggressors.

"Would we respond or would we look away?" He said of the time, saying that the efforts of NATO and the US are standing up for sovereignty and democracy.

"We will keep standing up for these same things no matter what," he said.

Biden said that NATO is fighting to end Europe's dependence on Russian oil. It was recently revealed that in September, Biden authorized the destruction of pipelines that were set to bring natural gas from Russia to Germany.

"President Putin's craven lust for land and power will fail, and Ukrainian people's love for their country will prevail," Biden said, framing this war as a fight for the future of democracy globally.

"President Putin chose this war," Biden said. "Every day the war continues is his choice. He could end the war with a word. It's simple. If Russia stopped invading Ukraine, it would end the war. If Ukraine stopped defending itself against Russia it would be the end of Ukraine."

"That's why together," he continued, "we're making sure Ukraine can defend itself. The United States has assembled a word worldwide coalition of more than 50 nations to get critical weapons and supplies to the brave Ukrainian fighters on the front lines, air defense systems, artillery ammunition but economic and humanitarian Refugee Assistance and so much more."

And Biden touted the trend in the US of citizens flying Ukrainian flags above their homes.

When Kevin Posobiec was visiting Ukraine along with Human Events Daily's Jack Posobiec in the spring of 2022, he remarked on the fact that while Ukraine's flag flutters on the US landscape, there were no visible US flags in Ukraine.

"Freedom. Freedom. There is no sweeter word than freedom. There is no nobler goal than freedom. There is no higher aspiration than freedom... all that we do now must be done so our children and grandchildren will know it as well. Freedom." he said.

While Biden spoke of Putin's ability to end the war with "a word," he did not suggest that Ukraine engage in peace talks. After the speech, children waving Ukrainian and American flags gathered around Biden for photos.
