A senior Border Patrol official has told Fox News that the agency has no plans to remove the razor wire from the border.

National Correspondent for Fox News Griff Jenkins, posted to X, citing a senior CBP official.

"[T]he relationship between Border Patrol, Texas DPS, & TMD remains strong... Bottom line: Border Patrol has no plans to remove infrastructure (c-wire) placed by Texas along the border. Our posture remains the same."

The government of Texas has been in a legal standoff with the Biden administration for several months over the border crisis.

Another statement on the situation from the Border Patrol Union has also been released as of Friday, saying, "Rank-and file BP agents are not going to start arresting TX [National Guard] members for following their LAWFUL orders. That's fake news."

"TX NG and rank-and-file BP agents work together and respect each other's jobs. Period. If TX NG members have LAWFUL orders, then they have to carry out those orders," the statement continued. "Rank-and-file BP agents appreciate and respect what TX has been doing to defend their state in the midst of this catastrophe that the Biden Admin has unleashed on America."

The Union declared that there is "no fight between rank-and-file BP agents and the TX NG [or] Gov. Abott" and that "flashy headlines" will not change that.

Despite the effort to tamp down the rhetoric today, tensions remain high in Texas and in the country as 25 states have stated their support of Texas in the crisis. One corporate media outlet has gone so far as to say that Abbott and other governors are "invoking the same legal theory that slave states wielded to justify secession."

Human Events' Jack Posobiec and Jessica Barshis spoke on the breaking news of the statements from the Border Patrol.

"Greg Abbott did a great job of putting the ball back into Biden's court," Barshis told Posobiec. She continued to speak on how many people on the left and right see illegal immigration as a threat to the United States.
