Portland police have arrested a member of Antifa in connection with arson at a UPS distribution center on Swan Island, according to KATU

Jarrid Bailey Huber, the Antifa member in question, was recently arrested on May 2 in connection with the arson incident last year.

On January 20, 2023, Portland Fire and Portland Police responded to the UPS distribution center where there was fire damage from what appeared to be road flares and multiple large windows had been broken.

According to court documents, a witness told law enforcement that he heard the windows being broken and used a fire extinguisher to put out the fire.

Detectives found blood on the broken windows. Samples were sent to the Oregon State Crime Lab and returned a positive DNA match for Huber who was in the system from a prior arson conviction, in which Huber and other Antifa members pushed a burning dumpster against the Justice Center in downtown Portland during a protest in 2021.

He is still on probation after pleading guilty to the anarchist attack in 2021.

When confronted with the evidence, Huber told detectives he went to the location because UPS was providing financial support for the Atlanta Forest police training facility, which antifa activists have called “Cop City.”

Huber admitted to being at the UPS hub when the fire was started, and the windows were broken.

He was arraigned on Friday on charges of arson, reckless burning, and criminal mischief.

Despite being on probation and previous conviction, Huber was given low bail of $1,000 by Multnomah County DA Mike Schmidt and the Multnomah County, which was quickly paid for by an Antifa bail group.
