Prior to his town hall in New Hampshire on Wednesday in which he announced that he was dropping out of the 2024 race, Chris Christie was caught on a hot mic discussing his now former competitors.

He was heard saying Nikki Haley is "gonna get smoked," and that Ron DeSantis called him "petrified."

"They don't wanna hear it," Christie began when the audio of the live feed kicked in. "We couldn't have been any clearer. We couldn't have been any more direct or worked any harder."

"Let's not forget she spent $68 million," a woman adds, referring to Haley.

"She's on TV, spent $68 million so far, $59 million by DeSantis, and we've spent $12 [million]," Christie replies. "Who's punching above their weight? Who's getting a return on their investment?"

Christie went on to claim that Haley "is gonna get smoked," adding, "she's not up to this."

"DeSantis called me, petrified that I would–," he continued before the feed cut off.

This is a breaking story and will be updated.
