FOX Business host Larry Kudlow interviewed Elon Musk where the two discussed the major cyber-attack on X on Monday, temporarily shutting down the platform.

“There was a cyber-attack on X today, which shut it down and may have been foreign sourced,” Kudlow said.

Elon Musk confirmed the incident, stating that the attack appeared to come from the Ukraine region.

"We’re not sure exactly what happened, but there was a massive cyber-attack to try to bring down the X system with IP addresses originating in the Ukraine area,” Musk said.

Kudlow then asked Musk if he believed the attack came from Ukraine and whether the platform was back online.

"“So that’s your suspicion? Is the website up yet?” Kudlow asked.

"It’s up,” Musk replied.

The latest spike in reported issues began around 11 am, with over 35,000 users reporting issues. The latest outage appeared to resolve around 1:30, but was short-lived as reports of issues once again surged and waned.

Musk wrote on Monday afternoon, "There was (still is) a massive cyberattack against X. We get attacked every day, but this was done with a lot of resources. Either a large, coordinated group and/or a country is involved. Tracing…"

According to Newsweek, the hacker group known as "Dark Storm" took credit for the DDoS attack on the popular social media platform. Cyber threat research team Check Point Research (CPR) told the outlet that the pro-Palestinian hacker group has resurfaced after a period of time with no activity. The hacker group largely targets countries like the US, Ukraine, the UAE, and Israel.
