In response to a tweet from Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez complaining about Elon Musk’s purchase of Twitter, the SpaceX and Tesla CEO hit back, saying "stop hitting on me."
The Friday afternoon tweet from the New York Rep. stated: "Tired of having to collectively stress about what explosion of hate crimes is happening bc some billionaire with an ego problem unilaterally controls a massive communication platform and skews it because Tucker Carlson or Peter Thiel took him to dinner and made him feel special."
In response, Musk wrote: "Stop hitting on me, I’m really shy."
A deleted response from AOC said: "I was talking about Zuckerberg but ok."
Musk was referencing an unhinged thread of tweets AOC made in December talking about how Republicans were mad that they can’t date her.
"If Republicans are mad they can't date me they can just say that instead of projecting their sexual frustrations onto my boyfriend's feet," Ocasio-Cortez wrote, adding, "Ya creepy weirdos."
She was referencing a tweet from former Trump advisor Steve Cortes, who pointed out that the New York Representative took a vacation to Florida and was seen without a mask despite preaching wearing it, and talking about her boyfriend's Birkenstock sandals.
AOC continued: "It's starting to get old ignoring the very obvious, strange, and deranged sexual frustrations that underpin the Republican fixation on me, women, &LGBT+ people in general. These people clearly need therapy, won't do it, and use politics as their outlet instead. It's really weird."
